Automation in hospitals

I saw this article about how AI and RPA are transforming in healthcare revenue cycle management. It talked about using automation to discuss claim denials, billing issues, and slow payments all while freeing up staff for actual patient care.

Has anyone here seen AI and RPA in a hospital or clinic setting? How is it working for you?

Yeah I've seen it myself too. It speeds things up and reduces manual errors, but it still needs oversight. Has it been fully rolled out where you are, or just in certain departments?

We tried it out last year in a dental network's billing office. It halved the time we spent processing claims, but it still marked a lot of false denials that we had to go back and verify.

Not sure how much of this is true, because I read it on the internet, but there was an article, I think it was a while back, that Mayo Clinic used bots for several aspects that could be automated enough which helped them save over half a million dollars. This is I'm sure just one example, as there are many more.

Yeah, I’ve seen similar setups in a few clinics. Automation really speeds up billing and claim processing, but it’s not really plug-and-play. Of course, someone still needs to catch errors or false flags... humans are indispensable and we have long established that I think.
