So, I've been doing the IT support thing part-time while finishing my degree, but I've got to say, seeing RPA at work recently has totally grabbed my interest. I'm eager to explore it further. Anyone already into this got tips on where a newbie like me should begin, or maybe some simple projects I can try?

Good advice already here. But I just wanna add that you should try to pick something from your daily routine that’s tedious, even minor, and try automating it. It doesn’t have to be fancy. It could be as simple as email sorting, spreadsheet updates, or simple data entry are perfect starter projects. Builds confidence and shows RPA in action quickly.
