My bf wants to get a job in IT process automation and took the Automation Anywhere Essential Cert test once. Sadly, uh, let's just say it didn't go well.

he's gearing up for round two and was hoping some of you might know of any good study guides or ways to review to get him better prepared this time.

I really want to help him. Any tips or resources you've stumbled across would be a huge help before he take his second shot at it! Cheers!

First thing, tell him to skip the fluff and head straight for the automation anywhere university. Their official training modules are really good if he actually pays attention this time. Also, there are YouTube walkthroughs of past exam questions, some of those creators explain stuff better than the platform itself.

I'd recommend Automation Anywhere uni courses, practice tests on Udemy, and joining study groups for tips. Hands-on practice building bots is crucial to boost confidence before retaking the exam. A bit of prayers would help.

Your boyfriend should focus on the official Automation Anywhere University materials!
They have dedicated Career Quests like the Automation Developer Career Quest - Start Phase which directly prepare you for the essentials exam.
These include courses, hands-on practice, and skill boosters.
Practical experience with the Community Edition is really important too, as the exam tests application of concepts.
Also, encourage him to check out any practice tests or quizzes he can find to get a feel for the question style and identify areas where he might need more review.

My advice is somewhat similar to the previous ones, with one important addition. Practice. Have your bf practice as much as possible which will help him learn and set a routine for himself and do better.
